A little bit about Yamco Skin
Like we’ve already mentioned, Yamco Skin has only just come onto the skincare scene - but that’s not holding them back. Created by Tony Yammine and Daniel Saad, Yamco Skin is all about giving your skin that #NoFilter look. Each product is packed full of natural and beneficial ingredients (ingredients that are actually grown here in Australia), and they work hard to detoxify, invigorate and refine your skin. Plus, they’re vegan and cruelty-free!
Yamco Skin currently has two products in their lineup: the No Filter Detoxifying Clay Mask and the No Filter Moisturiser (don’t worry, there are big plans for more skin care products to come). But the star of the show? Their kaolin infused clay mask, which is what we’re here to talk about. Want to learn about all its clay mask benefits? Keep on reading.
6 Yamco Skin clay mask benefits
1. Detoxifies & unclogs your pores
During the day, our face is exposed to a lot of different things - in particular, free radicals. Free radicals (a bit of a buzzword) are molecules in the environment that damage your skin, they do so by weakening your skin’s elasticity and clinging to your collagen. They can be anything from chemicals, to air pollutants or cigarette smoke.
Thankfully, Yamco Skin’s clay mask is here for you. Formulated with Kaolin Clay, this mask works hard to draw out impurities, toxins and pollutants from the surface of your skin. It also helps to remove dead skin cells!
Enriched with matcha green tea extract, this mask is also an amazing source of antioxidants - which help to neutralise free radicals, detoxify the skin and protect your skin from damage.
2. Fights off acne
It’s no surprise that the next clay mask benefit involves acne. With a host of beneficial ingredients, this clay face mask will help to unclog your pores, reduce inflammation (more on this later) and calm the heck out of your skin.
So if you’ve got acne prone skin, this mask is one to try.
3. Leaves you with softer, smoother skin
A lot of clay masks tend to be a bit drying, but not this one! Formulated with coconut extract, macadamia nut oil and avocado oil, this mask leaves you with hydrated, glowing and nourished skin.
Coconut oil helps the skin maintain a natural moisture balance, macadamia nut nourishes damaged skin, and avocado oil (high in palmitoleic acid), penetrates dry skin and leaves a protective barrier to prevent moisture loss.
4. Improves skin tone
Formulated with avocado leaf and turmeric extract, the Yamco Skin mask is going to transform your skin tone. Because it works hard to remove dead skin cells and reduce inflammation, you’ll be able to notice a difference within weeks.
With so many beneficial natural ingredients, the mask can help with acne scarring and post inflammatory pigmentation too!
5. Reduces excess oil
Since this clay mask can help with acne prone skin, it’s no wonder it’s amazing at reducing excess sebum and oil too. The key ingredient that helps with this? Turmeric extract!
Turmeric is widely recognised as an antimicrobial, and while it’s great at healing skin, it can also regulate your sebum production!
6. Anti-inflammatory
Another Yamco Skin clay mask benefit we want to mention, has to be its anti-inflammatory properties. Formulated with allantoin and aloe vera juice, this mask is going to help with reducing redness and any irritation you’re experiencing.
Allantoin, in particular, is exceptionally soothing, healing and promotes and accelerates skin cell regeneration. Did we mention this mask is great for sensitive skin too?
How to use the clay mask
- Apply a thin layer to your face (you can use either a face mask brush or your fingers, though we recommend the brush).
- Allow the mask to dry for approx. 15 minutes.
- Rinse your face and gently remove the mask. You can use a wet face cloth to help with this.
For the ultimate skincare routine, we recommend pairing the clay mask with Yamco’s moisturiser! Enriched with natural oils and butters, including sweet almond, avocado, macadamia and jojoba oil, as well as shea butter, this moisturiser will deeply hydrate your skin. It promises to keep your skin hydrated for up to 12 hours and will keep your skin plump, youthful and gorgeous.
Frequently asked questions about clay masks
You’ve asked, so we’ve answered!
Do clay masks really work?
Um, of course! It is important that you find the perfect one for your skin concern or type though (luckily Yamco Skin’s mask suits all skin types). We also suggest introducing the mask slowly into your skin care routine at first.
How often should you use a clay mask?
We suggest using it once or twice a week!
Are clay masks good for blackheads?
Yes 100%. Clay masks are great for loosening and removing clogged pores, which includes blackheads!
Should I moisturise after a clay mask?
Absolutely. Because clay masks work to extract all of the impurities and excess oil from your skin, you want to make sure you’re putting back in some moisture. You can follow a clay mask with other skin products in a couple of ways:
- Serum and then moisturiser; or
- Just a moisturiser (or a night cream)
Do clay masks bring out pimples?
Yes they do, but don’t worry! This is just your skin purging and the mask working its magic. Once the mask has cleared out all the gunk and dirt from your pores (which are just pimples waiting to happen), you’ll start to notice clearer, smoother skin in no time.
Want to see these clay mask benefits for yourself?
Then what are you waiting for! You can shop both the Yamco Skin clay mask and moisturiser right here at Oz Hair & Beauty (there’s also a convenient duo pack of both the moisturiser and mask, because who doesn’t like to save some $$?).
We’ve already added this mask to our #selfcaresunday ritual, so you should too.
